Phase 5 of 12
This phase teaches the balance between the Church being the Bride and God's Covenant with "children of the flesh of Abraham." (i.e. The Jew today) The balance is found in laying all of Daniel's Visions and prophecies side by side. The result will be one picture from Babylon to the Second Coming.
"Where is the Jews place in God's purpose?"
The key is found in the last Week of Daniel's 70 Week prophecy!
This is important because the first century Church
almost split over this. (Acts.15:1-33)
The Gentiles were being saved, water baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost, (Acts.8-14) and a "certain sect of the Pharisees, which believed" were commanding them to be circumcised and to keep the Law of Moses. The "apostles and elders came together" to "consider" this matter, (Acts.15:6) and concluded that the reconciling of Jew and Gentile together in Christ was of God. (Acts.15:7-29, Eph.2:1-22) Nevertheless, there was still a separation between the believing Jew and believing Gentile. (Gal.2:11-21) This division is still in the Eschatology of the Church today. Some teach, in the last days, there is a separate program for the "children of the flesh of Abraham" (Rom.9:8) and the Church. (The children of the promise. Gal.4:28). The answer is in the 70th.week of Daniel's Seventy Week Prophecy. (Dan.9:27)
Daniel's interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's Dream (Dan.2:1,31-45)
Nebuchadnezzar saw in a dream a great image with the head of Gold, (Babylon - Dan.2:36-37) his breasts and arms were of silver, (Media-Persia /History - Dan.2:39) his belly and thighs of brass, (Greece / History-Dan.2:39) legs of iron (Roman / History. Eastern Rome and Western Rome - Dan.2:40) and his feet were part iron and part clay. As he beheld this image a stone was cut out of a mountain without hands and smote the image upon his feet which caused the destruction of the image. (The Second Coming of Christ - Rev.11:15) Then the stone became a great mountain and filled all the earth. This is the foundation for all of Daniel's prophecies. (Note: Chart above)
The Ram and the He Goat Vision (Dan.8:1-27)
There stood before the river a ram which had two horns (Media - Persia - Dan.8:20) The rough goat with a notable horn (the first king of Greece - Dan.8:21) The he goat destroys the ram which had the two horns, and "waxed very great." (Dan.8:5-8 / Alexander the great) When the "he goat (Greece) was strong, the notable horn (Alexander) was broken, and four notable horns (four of Alexander's generals) stood up for it. (Dan.8:8,22) History records them to be, Ptolemy (Southern part of Egypt, Palestine), Lysimachus (Northern part of Asia), Cassandre (Western part of Greece and Macedonia) and Seleucus (Eastern part of Asia).
In the latter time if their kingdom. (Dan.8:8,23) The Kingdom of Greece! This is history to us!
There came a little horn (Antiochus Epiphanies 175-164 B.C.) who came against the "pleasant land" (Jerusalem) and waxed exceedingly great. Note the context of this vision, it is history to us. It was Media-Persia and Greece. Therefore ALL the language such as the "daily sacrifice" taken away, "sanctuary cast down" also belongs in history. This is consistent with God's Word because to "take away" the "daily sacrifice" before the Cross, is to come against the "host of heaven." After the Cross, God's name is NOT called upon them. (Heb.8-10) This is why this little horn is not the antichrist, because he is going "exalt himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped."(2Thes.2:4)
The Sanctuary being cleansed in 2,300 days (The Vision of the
evening and morning)
The Hebrew word for "days" is evening and mornings." (Strong's) This is a separate vision from the Ram and the He goat for three reasons, (1) It was called the vision of the evening and morning, and the other vision was the Ram and the He goat. (2) Daniel said he did not understand after Gabriel had just interpreted the Ram and He Goat vision. (3) Daniel did not say, he didn't understand the Ram and He Goat Vision. He said he did not understand the "vision of the evening and morning." This vision was to be "shut up" for "many days." (end time Dan.12:4, Rev.5-8)
The king of the South and the king of the North (Dan.11:1-45)
The prophecy begins with the kings of Media-Persia, (Dan.11:2) and Greece taking power and having dominion. (Dan.11:4) Then Daniel, centers on the king of the South, which was Ptolemy, one of Alexanders generals that ruled in his place. What follows is a precise, prophetic description (Dan.11:1-34) of his rule and conflict with Seleucus I Nectar, king of the North. (Syria) The reason that Ptolemy, the king of the South is spoken of in this prophecy, and not the other three Generals, is because Jerusalem was in the "traffic pattern" of their conflict. God was giving warning to His people of the coming danger. (Dan.11:32)
Remember: This History to us! To Daniel it was future.
It is during this historical conflict that Antiochus Epiphanies ( the "vile person") pollutes the sanctuary (Dan.11:31-34) takes away the daily sacrifice, and places the abomination that makes desolate. [Note: There is no historical evidence to confirm Daniel's Word from God after v.34. This is where the prophecy shifts to the last day, leaving a gap between Rome and the end time, which is the legs of Nebuchadnezzar's image. This gap is revealed in the 70 Week Prophecy also, which happens to be the time of the Church Age. (Note: Antiochus Epiphanies certainly is foreshadowing of the antichrist that is to come)
Media-Persia, Greece and Rome.
Dan.9:24-27 now adds to this historical picture, and reaches beyond our time to the last day.
The Seventy Week Prophecy (Dan.9:24-27)
The Seventy Weeks are prophetic of 490 years. (God works in patterns of sevens, or weeks. Gen.1, Gen.29:27-28, Num.14:34, Eze.4:1-6) Daniel understood a day for a year and a "week to be equal to 7 year's prophecy begins during the time of Media-Persia (Dan.9:25, 2Chron.36:22, Ezra.1:1-2) and spans the kingdom of Greece, Rome and to the last day. There would be 7 weeks (49 years) to restore and build Jerusalem (Media-Persia) and another 62 weeks (434 years of time of Greece) until the Messiah. (Dan.9:25, John.1:35-42, John.4:25) Rome.
A total of 69 weeks. (483 years)
Leaving one "week" (7 years) to fulfill this purpose listed below. In our interpretation of the "last week" we MUST show the fulfillment of ALL OF THESE!
To finish transgression. The word "transgression" has been translated in the K.J.V as rebellion, sin and trespass. "Revolt" (to attempt to overthrow the authority) Strong's. Lucifer (Satan, the devil) began transgression (Isa.14:12-14, Ezk.28:11-17) and it continued through Adam and passed on to all men and continues today even though JESUS paid the price to redeem us back to God. (Gen.3:1-15, Rom.5:12-21)
NOTE: Jesus died to redeem us back to God, forgiving us for our transgressions, with a period of Grace from now until the Second Coming to accept and appropriate His grace.(John.3:16, Eph.2:11-19) Transgressions will not end until the Second Coming. Our interpretation must show where transgression finishes within the 70th. Week.
To make an end of sins.
To make reconciliation for iniquity. Reconciliation was made by Christ, the Passover Lamb on the cross when "Messiah" was "cot off but not for Himself." (Dan.9:26) there is no other place of reconciliation.
NOTE: JESUS dying on the cross and making reconciliation for our sin (iniquities) PART OF THE SEVENTY WEEKS (Dan.9:24) IT CANNOT BE SEPARATED! It must be included in the interpretation! (Eph.2:11-19, Rom.5:10, 2Cor.5:18) Our interpretation MUST show where Jesus made reconciliation for our sin within the 70th. Week.
To bring in everlasting righteousness. Once "everlasting righteousness" is brought in, unrighteousness, sin and transgression are completely gone, which can only happen at Christ's return. (2Thes.2:8, Rev.19:20-21, Rev.20:1-3) Our interpretation MUST show where everlasting righteousness is brought in, within the 70th. Week.
To seal up the vision and prophecy. To "seal" is to close up; especially to seal. This has been translated into the Authorized (KJV) as make an end, mark, seal (up), stop.(Strong's) "Vision" - a sight (mentally), i.e. a dream, revelation or oracle- [command or revelation from God- Webster] "Prophecy"- a prophet or (gen.) inspired man. TO SUMMARIZE: To close up, stop, make an end of insight or revelation from God through the inspired man (or prophet) of God. According to (Acts.3:21 and Rev.11:7,15) the sealing up or the end to prophecy is when Jesus returns, this is the finish of the mystery of God. Our interpretation MUST show where the Vision and Prophecy is sealed up within the 70 th. Week.
To anoint the Most Holy. The "Most Holy" was the room in the Tabernacle of Moses that housed the presence of God.(Refer to Phase Four, The Tab.of Moses) This patter was continued in Solomon's Temple (2Chron.31:14) To "anoint" was to make it holy, sanctified (separated) and functional.(Exod.30:22-33) After Moses had anointed the Tabernacle, and all the pieces of furniture, the Glory of God filled the House, and Moses was unable to enter the tent of the congregation. (Note: Num.14:21, Hab.2:14) Therefore, part of these seventy weeks is to sanctify and make the Most Holy of the Temple to be functional having God's Glory preeminent.
Note:The history of the Temple to our present time.
a. The Temple promised (1Chron.22:6-19) Duet.12:11
b. David received and gave the pattern to Solomon1Chron.17:1-15 (1Chron.29:11-21) .
c. Solomon built and dedicated the Temple / The resting place - the end of Israel's journey. (2Chron.1-5)
d. The history of the destruction and restoring the Temple. (2Chron.5-2Chron.36)
e. Eventually resulted in The Babylonian captivity and the Temple. (2Chron.36)
Daniel was prophesying during this Babylonian Captivity
f. After the Babylonian captivity, Ezra and Nehemiah record the restoration of the Temple.However it was nothing in comparison to the first House or Solomon's Temple. All that was accomplished was a landmark where Israel could count from the number of years until Messiah (Jesus) the prince should come.(Dan.9:24) There no record in the books of Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai, or in the prophets Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi of the "Most Holy being anointed" This was the time of Media-Persia.
g. The next period of time to study is "The Silent Centuries" (time between the Old and New Testaments), the time that Greece ruled the world beginning with Alexander the Great (330 B.C.) and ending with Antiochus Epiphanies (175-164 B.C.) "who committed many outrage against the Jews, sought to establish idolatry in Jerusalem, and defiled the Temple."(F.C.Thompson,D.D.,PH.D. Comprehensive Bible Helps,p.179)
No anointing the most holy during this period of time. h. The next period of time is John the Baptist (who broke the prophetic silence) until JESUS the Messiah. By the time of Jesus, the Temple that was in existence was, Herod's Temple, which was a mixture of the original pattern that God gave David and man's traditions. In fact Jesus had to take a whip to the money changes in the Temple twice. (John.2:13-22, Luke.19:45-46)
NOTE: Jesus told Israel,"behold your house is left desolate." (Matt.23:38), confirming this when God "rent the Vail from top to bottom" revealing that He was not there.(Matt.27:50-51)
Now the subject of the Temple is going through the Cross into it's fulfillment, completion or reality.(Matt.5:17-19)which is the Church of the Living God! What is the "Most Holy" today? It cannot be in Temples made with hands, (Acts.7:48) and besides there is no Temple in Jerusalem, nor shall there be. Therefore it must have it's fulfillment in the true Temple, (the Church) that Solomon's Temple foreshadowed. (John.2:18-20, Eph.2:20-22, 1Cor.6:19, 2Cor.6:16, 1Tim.3:15)
a. When the "Most Holy" was anointed, then God's Glory filled the Tabernacle, and God has promised to fill the earth with His Glory. This will happen during the thousand year rest, simply because there is no other place for it to happen. (Num.14:21, Hab.2:14)
NOTE: The shall be a Glory revealed in us, the Church before the millennium that will draw the unsaved to Christ. However sin and transgression will still be revealed also as never before. (Review Phase 2 / Solomon's Temple a model of the Last day Church)
b. Now place the Tabernacle pattern along side the Redemptive Week, the Most Holy Place parallels the thousand rest, the seventh day. (Review Phase 4, The Tabernacle of Moses) The seventh day, is the day when we will reign with Christ (the anointed one) The is God covering the earth with His Glory! "The Most Holy is the Millennium, the thousand year rest.
Note: There cannot be the Most Holy in an earthly Temple, because the Most High dwelleth not in Temples made with hands" after the Cross. (Acts.7:48, John.2:18-20, Eph.1:22-23, Matt.16:18.....
